Guided Birdwalks

  • Every Wednesday and Sunday
  • Meet at 9 am in the parking lot
  • Bring your binoculars and walking shoes and meet in the parking lot for this informal and informative walk around the lake area.
  • Binoculars are available for loan at the Nature House office on Wednesdays.
  • Donations appreciated.

Introduction to Dragonfly Watching

  • Wednesday, July 14, 7 – 9 pm
  • Fieldtrip, Saturday, July 17
  • $25 Sanctuary Members, $35 non-members

Big, Wet, Rodent Day

  • Tuesday, July 6, 12 noon to 3 pm
  • They are on our money, they’re in our lake - it’s time to celebrate the symbol of our country and their relatives.
  • Muskrats and beavers are fascinating creatures.
  • Crafts, games, and touchable beaver stuff.
  • Admission by donation. Crafts $3.

Reptile Day

  • Tuesday, July 20, 12 noon to 3 pm
  • Scales, slithers, snakes and smiles! Come and join us for our annual reptile bash as we learn about all those who are scaly.
  • Observe our fabulous reptile friends, play games, make crafts and get your face painted.
  • Admission by donation. Crafts $3.

Insectmania

  • Tuesday, August 3, 12 noon to 3 pm
  • They’re creepy, they’re crawly and they’re cool.
  • Explore with us the fascinating world of insects and spiders.
  • Hands-on exploration, live bugs, crafts, songs and games.
  • Admission by donation, Crafts $3.

Fabulous Frogs

  • Tuesday, August 17, 12 noon to 3 pm
  • Long sticky tongues, breathing through skin and webbed feet! Discover what makes frogs so fabulous.
  • Join us for a puppet show, hands-on displays, live animals and froggy crafts.
  • Admission by donation. Crafts $3.

Creatures of the Summer Night

  • Wednesday, July 28, 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Friday, August 13, 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Check out the nightlife a Swan Lake!  Sharpen your night senses with owl prowling and raccoon trailing.  Using a grab bag of tricks, discover how these animals are adapted to their nocturnal life.
  • Suitable for families with children over 6 years.
  • Pre-registration required. $4 Members / $6 Non-Members.

Christmas Hill Hike

  • Thursday, August 12
  • Leaving at 10 am &2 pm
  • Join us for a great summer hike! Get your glacial groove on with this exploration of the rocky oak-forested Christmas Hill.
  • Suitable for all mobile ages.
